Parishioners are reminded that all Council meetings are open to the public which gives an opportunity for residents to raise issues that they feel should be considered by the Parish Council. If unable to attend issues can be raised with the Clerk, or any Parish Councillor.
BUDGET AND PRECEPT 2024-25
The budget and Precept for 2024-25 can be viewed on the Finance page. The Precept income has been held at the 2023-24 level.
NOTICEBOARD
Following a request the Parish noticeboard on the side of the All Saints Brewery has been removed by the Parish Council.
HATCHINGS
Following discussions with the Parish Council, ERYC have agreed to put hatchings on a stretch of Main Street opposite the Church Wall. This aims to discourage parking in this area so that delivery and farm vehicles can pass through the village without mounting the verge next to the Church wall (which was in danger of being undermined). The proposed scheme can be downloaded below, and is due to be implemented on 20th November.
MEETINGS
The Council have agreed that future meetings will normally be held on the 1st Monday of each month, with the next meeting now on Monday 6th November. An update timetable is available through the Parish Council Information section.
COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE REVIEW
The Parish Council has received the following consultation from East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC):
“East Riding of Yorkshire Council is currently undertaking a community governance review of all parish areas. Community governance reviews consider whether parish councils in the area should be created, dissolved or altered (this can be in relation to the boundaries of a parish, the number of councillors on a parish council or the name of the parish).
Following the first phase of public consultation and the feedback received, the Council has now prepared draft recommendations which have now been approved for a second phase of public consultation. The consultation will take place from Monday 31 July 2023 until Saturday 30th December 2023.
The draft recommendation with relation to your parish council is that the number of councillors is changed and also that the boundaries are amended.
Following the close of the consultation, feedback will be considered and final recommendations will be prepared for approval by the Council at its meeting in November 2023. The recommendations will then come into effect from the next Ordinary day of election on Thursday 6 May 2027.”
The full consultation is available on https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/council/elections-and-voting/community-governance-reviews/full-east-riding-parish-review/.
